Rogue Assault is a new mobile product from Kixeye. The goal I was challenged with was to fuse modern style, capturing a sleek and stylized, modern interface with the familiar gaming function of a new strategy game.
With well defined UX direction, our UI fell into place after pulling together a new style guide. Once that was established the game design and the teams drive made this game a real exciting adventure.
Starting at Kixeye in the Winter of 2012 threw me right into the development of their adventure into the world of MOBAs. As soon as I knew what the end goal was, to have a MOBA that was easy to learnand play during shorter rounds during lunchtime, landing it the tagline, "Lunchtime MOBA", I dove in head first.
My lead on revisioning the title to work within the Unity engine and directing TOME beyond a flat and basic UI was exciting. Building out a styleguide for everyone from design to marketing to pull from, encouraging a unification was one of my first goals, From there it was just a matter of using my team to build out a great game.
